How To Complete A Money Order

HOW TO COMPLETE A MONEY ORDER.

Money order is a type of transaction which involves printed order for payment of a specific amount of money .its only issued by a bank or a postal office. Note that after buying a money order and before completing your money order , you will be required to fill payment details first, which include filling in the pay of order, your official name which should be written legibly, signing at the front of the money order and not forgetting to leave out the endorsement signature field blank as it belongs to the receiver of the money order.

To successfully complete a money order, ensure that;

1. You Use a blue or black ink when writing your money order.

2. FILL IN THE ADDRESS FIELDS

Some types of money order may have only one section that is for the purchaser’s address. Write down your address in the field indicating “Purchaser’s address”.
· Make sure that you use your current and working mailing address.
· In case of a second address field, include the mailing address of the person or business entity to whom the money order will be delivered to.

3. FILL THE MEMO LINE

The person or the company to whom the money order will be delivered to will want to know the reason as to why the money order was written to them. Note that
· If you are sending your receipt for your bill payment , indicate the bill’s due date and your account number on this field.
· In case the money order is for someone you know personally, indicate the reason in the memo line e.g. debt payment, birthday gift e.t.c.
· You can use this line to fill in any other information that you think the other person needs to know.

4. KEEP YOUR CUSTOMER MONEY ORDER RECEIPT.

The money order receipt is your proof of the payment made. Store the receipt in a safe place just in case a problem arises later such as;
· The money order getting lost or the receiver denying ever receiving it, the receipt will be used as a proof of the order made.
· Ensure your receipt has a tracking number which will help you check the status of the money order should there be any problem .
· Lack of the money order receipt or the tracking number will mean you cannot be able to verify that a money order was send or received or even be able to obtain a refund in case the money order gets lost.
